Hello Room 211 Families, Wow!  Spring Break has come and gone – it’s hard to believe!   We wrapped up our Transportation theme just before the break and have now moved onto Baby Animals.  New vocabulary includes kitten, puppy, lamb, piglet, duckling, chick, calf, tadpole, fawn, bunny and bear cub as well as burrow, nest, pond, and forest.   A quick update on our academic curricula: Literacy – Students continue to work on strengthening their knowledge of letter names, letter sounds, and blending those sounds to read familiar...

The Color Run will be at 5:30pm on Friday, April 28th. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for our school. Because of the timing of spring break we only have a few weeks left to go! We are asking teachers to help get students, families, friends and community members excited for this event! Our goal is to raise $40,000. If every student in the school raises $75 we will not be far from our goal! All students...

Hello, Room 211 Families! Here we are – already into March and about to wrap up our second trimester of the school year.  As a reminder, I will be emailing IEP progress reports for the second trimester on Friday, March 17th.  If your child recently had their IEP reviewed or has a review coming up in the next couple of weeks, your progress report will have limited information as the latest progress was/will be discussed at the annual review meeting.  If...

In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that we practice our emergency drills each month. Today our school conducted an earthquake drill as part of our ongoing effort to promote the safety of our students and staff.  An announcement was made over the intercom and students and staff were instructed to drop, cover and hold. Where does the time go? This is a short month but filled with great learning opportunities.  There are only two more full weeks of school before our second Winter Break (Feb 20th – Feb 24th).  School will resume on Monday, February 27th. In Motor Language Group, we are shifting from winter and snow to friendship and edible hearts.  Students will be interacting with Jell-O this week and next!
