December Updates

Hello, Room 211 Families!

How are we in the middle of December already?  Time is flying by!  The first trimester is behind us and we can only hope snow days are, too.  We have had (or will have) many special winter activities this month including our Winter Sharing Concert, Snowflake Day in second grade, hot cocoa while watching the Polar Express for our first graders, and PJ Day!

In Motor Language Group, Ms. Burd and Ms. Joy made rain clouds with us.  We will do the same again this week.  This is a fun activity to try recreating at home by partially filling a jar with water and adding shaving cream to the top.  With a dropper, add a few drops of food coloring and watch what happens!

In Math, we are learning about the concept of zero!  This is a tricky concept that we will circle back to again later in the school year.  Zero represents none…so we start with some and show how we take away all.  Can you think of ways to reiterate this new learning at home over the break?

I’ve added new photos from the last couple of weeks.  Please enjoy all the smiles and hard work at school.

Wishing every family a safe winter break filled with great memories!  See you in 2023!

Take good care,

Jaime
