Day #1

Hello Room 211 Families,

Today was a great start to our school year.  I’m guessing you have a tired child at home right now!  Our day ran very smoothly.  We spent a lot of time exploring the classroom, interacting with new and familiar friends, and learning the routines of the school and class.  Pete the Cat joined us at the end of the day and reminded us that, “It’s all good!”  We are all looking forward to our kindergarten classmates joining us soon!

Tomorrow is a shorter day so there will only be one morning snack offered.  Lunch will still be at 11:45am.  There are also no specialist classes scheduled on Wednesdays for grades K-2.  This year we will not have a separate specialist schedule for just our LRCII classroom.  All students will be joining PE, library, and music with their grade level general education class.  This is great news as we are creating more inclusive environments where everyone belongs!

I will be sending home a hard copy of the Curriculum Night presentation for those who were unable to attend.  Look for this packet and other papers from the day in the communication notebook.  Please empty and return the notebook each day with the communication sheet filled out every morning (upper section).   Thank you for sending in the extra clothes, the emergency food kits, and water bottles (today was HOT!).  If you are still putting those items together, we will collect them from backpacks as soon as you send them in.

Please reach out if you have any questions!
