Settling In!

Hello Room 211 families!

This week has provided many opportunities to build our classroom community and I’m looking forward to our first full week for even more fun!  We have been reading a social story called Being Kind and have tackled our first comprehension question of the year: What do you like to do with your friends?  With visual support, each student selected an answer of playing on the playground, eating at the same lunch table, or playing in our classroom.  Can you guess your child’s answer?!

Accomplishments this week:

  1. We have settled into a daily routine.
  2. Therapy (SLP, OT, PT) sessions have all been scheduled and started!
  3. We are navigating the entire school building as we transition from our classroom to recess, lunch, specialists, our general education classrooms and more.
  4. Everyone is learning to walk as a class in a straight line, following the person in the lead.

Please mark your calendar for Curriculum Night – Thursday, September 16th at 5:30pm.  In Room 211, we will be briefly chatting about our Literacy, Math and Social Emotional curricula.  This will be a very general meeting and not a time to discuss student-specific questions.  Due to current school policies in place, only one parent is invited to join us per family.  Please let me know if you plan to attend and/or if you have questions about the evening.  This is an optional event.

Have a great evening,
