Hello, Friday!

What a beautiful day! Perfect timing for the earthquake drill we participated in this afternoon. Due to the school’s upcoming Vision & Hearing Screenings next week, our drill was moved up to today. Students practiced taking cover – some even while in PE – before evacuating to the grass field on the playground. Happy to report it was a huge success for all students!

This week, we’ve been talking a lot about Fall, pumpkins and most everyone’s favorite upcoming holiday, Halloween! We’ve read Pete the Cat Trick or Pete, written by James Dean as well as The Spooky Wheels on the Bus written by J. Elizabeth Mills. The fun flows into the hallway as we have handmade jack-o-lanterns hanging outside our classroom as well as small white and orange pumpkins decorating our group table! If you have a pumpkin you’d like to donate to our class, please send it in anytime next week! We’d love to get our hands in it!

Finally, just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 14th for all students. It is a teacher work day. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, October 15th!

Have a great weekend,
